Ana Carp is a Bucharest based visual artist working with mixed media techniques. She is interested in exploring the connection between the organicity of traditional techniques (printmaking, collage, Chinese ink painting) and materials (rice paper, threads, textiles) with the more objective mediums of photography (analogue and digital) and video.

Minimalist space and ligh projections play an important role in her immersive installations that tackle themes such as: memory, loneliness, exploration of subconscious mind, identity, confusion and exhaustion brought by disconnection of body from nature, the connection between human body, nature and technology. Moreover, the motif of liminal spaces such as hallways, back doors, subconscious mind are central to her artistic projects.

Distortion and destruction of sound and moving image is something she wants to further explore in her artistic practice.
